Turn on the unit by putting the batteries into the boresight body with the flat (positive "+") side facing the battery cap. Tighten the cap by turning it clockwise until secure. Once the laser is activated, carefully place the boresight into the chamber of your firearm and close the bolt slowly until it fits snugly. It is not necessary to have the bolt closed or for the entire boresight body to be completely in the chamber for it to work properly. Locate a target 20-30 yards away on which the laser can be clearly seen. The laser point is the theoretical point of impact. Adjust the windage and elevation of the scope or sight onto the laser point. Theoretically, when sighting in at 25 yards, the shot will be within 4 inches of the bullseye at 100 yards. Adjust he scope or rifle for the change of distance according to the scope, ammunition and the rifle manufacturer's instructions.
