The DS-124 Defender Series Accu-Grips Laser Sight by Crimson Trace fits Smith & Wesson J-Frame (Round Butt) and Taurus Small Frame Revolvers. The Defender Series sets a new standard in laser sighting systems by providing cutting edge design, superior technology, and an affordable price tag. The DS-124 features Beam Lock Adjustments so that the user can easily adjust laser sighting for both windage and elevation, and the unit is pre-sighted at the factory at 50 ft. The Top N-Gage Activation Button provide a large, easy-to-find, bright red activation button, which emits a powerful red laser.

I have two, one on S&W Model 60 and one on Taurus Model 85 since 2017. Have fired over 2000 rounds of 38 SPL thru each guN. No problem with sights . I like the thumb activation laser switch. In daylight, with new battery on white background I can easily see red dot out to 20 yards. This is more than enough for CC situations. At night it’s good to 75 plus yards. I replace batteries when I can no longer see red dot at 20 yards in daylight. To date I’ve replace about three batteries in each gun. It needs slight adjustment once in a while due to slight drift with time, I adjust for drift when it is over 6 inches in 20 yards. Original installation on each gun needed some trimming of the plastic mold flash on the grip edges and the fit was not perfect. Light scraping and mold edge burnishing solved that issue. They’ve been fine since 2017. When cleaning and oiling the gun don’t get oil on the laser diode. Oil will effect the optics of the laser light by enlarge the red dot down range until the gun oil eventually clears out. This I found may take some months to get back to a sharp small dot.
