I bought this to replace one that I had and wanted to see the slope function. At my local course I know the distances pretty well. The range was right on. The slope worked (see my note in a minute), On a downhill It seemed right on. On the uphill I felt I should have hit a little more club than it indicated.The case seemed nicer than the picture on the product page.One note. When you operate it you press the power. Then press the power again to activate the range. When you do this just briefly press the power button and do not hold it down. You may get weird results such as 0's in the ranges when you turn the slope on. But with the brief press it works every time.Likes:- inexpensive- light weight- usb charge- slope functionDislikes- it’s like 99% accurate. I get different readings to the pin from the same location. 1 to 2 yds difference is not a big deal for me. I don’t have that club in my bag- slope feature does not adjust total distance automatically which I think is a bummer. Such an easy fix to get it right there- construction is not super sturdy. I always shoot the flag at least twice before taking an approach shot.First round had a tough time getting repeatable pin lock. Second shot on a par 4 pin locked twice at about 5 yards longer than my 7 iron. Flew the green into trees behind the green. Penalty drop. Didn't think much about it. Rest of round continued to have trouble getting repeatable pin lock. Some holes just used garmin watch and used middle of green for target distance.Second round course conditions wet, partners decided to play one set of tees forward. Trouble getting repeatable pin lock continued. On first par three, pin locked three times at 6 iron distance. Flew the green into the woods, penalty drop. Partners asked what club. They hit 8 irons. Finally dawned on me that the rangefinder was not locking on the pin if there was anything behind the green. did not use the rangefinder for pin distance remainder of round. Did use for approximate bunker/hazard distances.Back home in back yard tried to shoot fence posts and smaller objects. Again, yardage returned would always be the large object behind.Returning this one.Two stars for the rechargeable and ergonomics. I might have gotten a lemon but flag lock issues do seem to come up in other reviews.It is fine for hunting also.Overall, seeming like it’s a decent value for the money. Though I’ve had trouble locking on to pins at my course as they don’t have the reflective point on the pins and shooting the flag is difficult. Have mostly just been using my GPS app to keep up pace of play.I wanted to get something that could measure distances up tp 1-2 Km away. I have got some good results with this within 0.5 Km but Longer ranges may be difficult to obtain.It feels right holding and definitely worth'r the price if you are interested in Golf type of measurements,. I am not a golfer , and I am sure there are many fancier and more expensive rangefinders out there. I was looking for an inexpensive one with long range.
